A lesson plan written by a practical AI and a creative one
A teacher says what the lesson is about, the grade level, how long it runs, and whether they want homework and a demonstration. Two AI personalities, one practical and one creative, take it from there, checking their facts against the teacher's own source material and a set of online references, and the program produces a full lesson.
Planning a lesson well takes longer than teaching it. The program described here takes the decisions a teacher has already made and turns them into a full lesson.
It does that with two AI personalities working on the same lesson: one practical and one creative. A lesson has to do two jobs at once. It has to be something a teacher can actually run in the time available, and it has to be something students will stay with.
Solution
The teacher gives the program what they already know:
- what the lesson is about;
- the grade level;
- how long it needs to run;
- whether they want homework;
- whether they want a demonstration.
The two personalities, one practical and one creative, work from that brief to write the lesson.
Accuracy is handled separately from style. A teacher can upload their own source material for the lesson to be fact-checked against, and a number of online resources are used as well.
What comes out is a full lesson, not an outline.
What this demonstrates
- Designing AI tools around a teacher's decisions rather than a blank prompt
- Using more than one AI perspective on the same piece of work
- Grounding generated material in sources the teacher chose
- Education expertise and software built together
